there was a Creem Magazine special edition called Heavy Metal, circa maybe 1982? Rob Halford was on the cover. this issue detailed most of the more notable HM and hard rock bands from the 60's up to the latest stuff. ANYWAY... some gonzo Creem writer, talking about the Scorpions, mentioned that they made him "want to use the words hoopla and festooned in a sentence". that struck me.
